Our Mission

Every Thursday night, the Torah Scholars at Kollel Hazot recite a special prayer composed by the holy Reshash for the benefactors of Kollel Hazot, citing their names and the berachot that they have as a result. Oftentimes, we are asked by one of our supporters to pray for someone who is seriously ill. People often request that we dedicate the learning of that night or that week for a refuah shleima and dedicate their learning to his merit. There have been tremendous results and that should come to no surprise. After all, during the hours of Hatzot, from midnight to the morning, the Gates of Heaven are open to receive our tefillot, and they are brought directly to the Kisei Hakavod, the Heavenly Throne!

DEDICATIONS

Aside from the Standard Berachot

for those who support Torah, as the Torah gives precedence to Zevulun, representing those who work to support Torah, over the tribe of Yissachar, the Rabbis and Scholars learning Torah, there is a unique place for those who support the learning after Hazot  - and that is that they get to share all the unique benefits as well, as outlined herein:

The Arizal

writes that those who learn the second half of the nights become “friends” with Hash-m and you can’t get better than that!

Reb Natan of Breslav

writes that just as the Exodus from Egypt began at midnight, so too the final redemption will begin at midnight. And it will come about in the merit of those who get up at Midnight, to recite Tikkun Hazot prayers and learn Torah until the morning, and for those who support it.

The Zohar

states that after midnight, Hashem Himself joins the angels and the souls of the Tzaddikim in Gan Eden, to personally listen to the Kol Torah, the beautiful sounds of those who get up in the middle of the night to learn Torah and Hashem says, “Whatever these men will decree, I will fulfill. Whomever they bless, I will maintain.”

The Importance

of getting up at midnight to learn Torah is mentioned in every Parsha in the Zohar. No other mitzvah gets such attention, and shows how essential this learning is.

The Gemara

tell us that one who is up through the night learning, is granted a “Chut shel Hesed” an extension of Hesed during the day. This applies to the supporters as well.

The Zohar

tells us that one who recites Tikkun Hazot and learn through the night are given access to all the gates of the King’s treasures in Heaven and there is nobody or no Angel who can prevent or block him.

Rabbi Mordechai of Tchernobel

writes that those who recite Tikkun Hazot and learn through the night can achieve everything that they ask for, from Hashem,

Rav Chaim Palagi

writes that the hours after midnight are an Eis Ratzon, an auspicious time, and those who are up every night at Chazot and learn till the morning can be Poel Yeshuot, bring miraculous salvations. He adds that those who support the Torah scholars who get up at Hazot to learn, are considered as if they themselves learned at that auspicious time, and share all the berachot and segulot connected with that most precious learning.

Rav Yaakov Abuchazira

writes that the word צדקה Tzedaka is the same gematria as the words חצי הלילה Hatzi HaLailah (midnight), since this is the greatest tzedakah that we give to Hash-m, to sacrifice from their sleep and the comfort of their homes, to arise at midnight to learn thru the night, as the Pasuk states חצות לילה אקום להודות לך על משפטי צדקיך, “At midnight, I rise to give thanks to You for Your just judgments” and those who support Kollel Hazot share in this greatest tzedakah.

The Pnei Yehoshua

guarantees those who get up at midnight to learn through the night, that they and their supporters are blessed with a good life with plentiful parnassa.

Rav Avraham Antebi

testifies that in Aram Zoba (Syria) during the years that they had established a Kollel Hazot, there were no unusual tragedies and tragic accidents and shefa and brachah was abundant to the entire community during that entire period of time.

Rav Zilberstein

who is Rav Chaim Kanievsky’s son in law, is the Rav of a town in Israel called Ramat Elchanan. For several years, their town had tragedy after tragedy, young people getting sick, terrible accidents, fires etc. Finally, he was advised to open up a Kollel Hazot and all of the troubles stopped.

Rav Yaakov Meir Schechter Shlit”a

Rosh Yeshivat Mekubalim Shar HaShamayim writes that “it is a great privilege to take part in the Torah learning of the Torah scholars of Kollel hazot who push sleep away from their eyes. It will be an eternal merit for the Torah scholars and their families and for those who support their efforts. There is nothing that draws down Heavenly mercy more than toiling in the holy Torah during these hours.”
